Acrophobia Hypnosis

Acrophobia Hypnosis

Acrophobia is the Fear of heights and for the sufferer can have a very limiting effect on their life.

All phobias create Anxiety and Stress and even though many people believe that some of these phobias are “not real”, the Anxiety that is caused by the phobic object is very real indeed.

Acrophobia Hypnosis involves a number of sessions, usually around 4-6 that are designed to help you to learn how to cope more effectively with the triggers and effects that Acrophobia creates.

As with all types of therapy, you need to be highly motivated and willing to challenge yourself and your beliefs in order to master the phobia and the same is undoubtedly true with Acrophobia Hypnosis.

What’s Involved in Acrophobia Hypnosis?

During the first one or two sessions we will spend a little time helping you to explore some of the earliest memories and experiences connected with your phobia, often known as an “emotional release” sessions.

In the later sessions we then start to use very specific, symptom focused suggestions to help you build up a strong sense of control over your automatic responses to the triggers, and also to help strengthen your ability to cope more effectively with the situations in which you experience Acrophobia.

For the majority of sufferers, the Acrophobia Hypnosis sessions will help you either manage the phobia more effectively or even eradicate the problem altogether.

It’s important to recognise that Hypnosis is not some kind of “magical cure” that happens to you during the sessions, on the contrary, Hypnosis is designed to help YOU to understand and develop your own set of coping skills and techniques.

Whilst it would be fantastic if a few sessions of Hypnosis somehow imparted this effect on a person, this view is just not realistic.

The Acrophobia Hypnosis sessions CAN help you to overcome the problem, but they can’t MAKE you change without you putting in the maximium of effort to change too.
